Booth Vacation 2012

This year for our vacation with Brandon's family, we decided to sail the Florida Keys. Brandon's Dad is a big sailor, so what he does is rent a catamaran and takes us along for a week long of sailing and sleeping on the water. This was our third year doing this and was great. The first year we went to the British and US Virgin Islands and last year the Abacos Islands in the Bahamas.
Since we spend so much time on the boat, each year we make a list of food and other items that we need throughout the week. We buy most of it before we set sail because you never know what kind of grocery or market you will find once you leave port. This year was gonna be a little different since we found out that we were pregnant about two weeks before we were to leave. We had to covertly change some menu items before the trip to accommodate a pregnant lady's diet!!
Even though it was pretty early, Brandon and I decided to go ahead an tell his family about the pregnancy once we were on the ship! Since I would be hitting the 6 week mark that week, I was nervous I might start getting sick and having to tell them (I don't get sea sick, so they would have thought something was wrong). Last year, David (my father in law) invited his brothers family along and Brandon's Aunt Marilyn ended up bringing everyone personalized hats and the girls bags for the trip. We decided to pretend that we were gonna carry on the same tradition this year with some gifts for everyone! Why we did though was give them all shirts and reveal we were pregnant! We always said that my mother in law Jan would be called "Nanna Jana" and David would be called "Capt'n" by their grand kids so what we ended up doing was putting that on the t-shirts! We also got Brandon's brother a shirt that said "Uncle Daniel" on it. We figured that they wouldn't get it until they saw Daniels because that was a little more revealing since we joke about the other names already.
We decided to get everyone together as soon as the boat was checked out and before we left. We sat everyone down an told them we had a present for them. While Brandon video taped, they all opened their shirts. It took a minute, but Daniel caught on first. When everyone figured it out, there was a lot of commotion and Brandon's mom couldn't believe it. His Dad even started crying and gave me a big hug! It was a great moment and they were all so happy! I ended up getting some pictures of them in their shirts a few days later. Overall, vacation was great and the news we shared made it even sweeter! Since we weren't going to see my family anytime soon, we decided to tell them over the phone before we left! They were just as, if not even more excited (if that's possible)!! We are so blessed and are very excited for our little one to meet and spend time with our wonderful families. Here are some pictures from our vacation.
